S5 Upconversion Data Quality Flags

  • The flags are placed at the time period that the interferometer was possibly affected by the upconversion by observing the scaled H1:SUS-ETMY_COIL_LL signal. A threshold was applied to the scaled COIL_LL for 1% dead time
  • The scaled H1:SUS-ETMY_COIL_LL was generated by applying a scaling function on the COIL_LL signal. The function equalize the contribution of the COIL_LL to the upconversion noise in 70-110Hz H1:DARM_ERR.
  • The scaling functioin was produced from the estimation of the contribution of each peak of the COIL_LL power spectrum to the H1:DARM_ERR.

Scaling Function

  • Gray Line: S5 Scaling function generated based on the test segments (See this link for the test segments).
  • Gray X symbol: Reference scaling factor based on the test segment.
  • Each Dot represents a slope of a linear fit curve for the DARM_ERR 70-110Hz vs COIL_LL BLRMS. The COIL_LL BLRMS is in one of six frequency bands (0.1-0.3,1.0-1.6,1.8-2.6,5.0-7.0, 10.0-13.0 and 17.0-19.0Hz). The dots calculated every 3.5 days for a week of data. See the bottom of this link how the slopes (dots) were calculated.
  • The following equation shows how the scaling function is applied to the COIL_LL.
