FY 2009 Funding Proposal Process
(Approximate grant dates: Sep 1, 2009-Aug 31, 2010)
While funding is uncertain, if it becomes available the total for all proposals could range from $300k to $2M. This range should be taken into consideration when preparing the project descriptions, and the LoI proposals.

Important dates:
January 23, 2009: Project Description and Status Report due.
Please submit to Jim Brau both the original file and a pdf file for your
Project Description. LaTeX is preferred for the original,
but Word is also acceptable. A LaTeX Template and its pdf file
are given below. If Word is used for the original, the format
and structure should be the same as shown in the template below.
Please also send your project description to
George Gollin in pdf
and postscript format. Copies should also be sent by the proponents to LoI contacts
who have interest in the project. The complete set of project descriptions received
by Gollin and Brau will be assembled and posted on the web.
February 18, 2009: Proposals submitted to DOE and NSF
by LoI groups, led by two PIs, one from the university community and one from
the laboratories.
The PI's will propose a prioritized set of
projects from those submitted on January 23.
The agencies plan to use a joint panel to review the proposed projects.
