The Birth of Stars

• We will discuss more about the birth of stars. We first review what we learned about the interstellar medium, including a discussion of how we can observe the gas and dust clouds from which stars are born. [Cf. CM Ch. 18 on the interstellar medium.]
• We then learn about some of the general dynamics involved in star birth and a simple model of star formation. [Cf. CM Ch 19 on star birth.]
