Regional Meetings in the Americas

Study of the Physics and Detectors for Future Linear e+e- Colliders

  1. A series of meetings took place in the United States during 1995 and 1996, culminating in SNOWMASS 1996, to study the physics potential of future high energy e+e- colliders.
  2. The Snowmass Summer Study, June 24 - July 12, 1996
  3. The Boulder Meeting, June 11 - 12, 1998

    4. There was a meeting at Boulder, Colorado to start planning the present round of studies in America. A set of working groups was set up with several organizers each to start organizing the American part of these studies.
  4. The Keystone Meeting, September 26 - 29, 1998
  5. Meeting of the Detector Simulation Group at SLAC, December 7 and 8, 1998, organized by Mike Peskin
  6. Meeting of the e-e-, e-gamma, gamma gamma Working Group at SLAC on Friday, December 11 and Saturday, December 12, organized by Karl Van Bibber and Clem Heusch.
  7. Meeting of the Simulation Group at Fermilab, February 15 - 16, 1999
  8. Meeting of all of the American LCD working groups at University of Michigan, March 26 - 28, 1999
  9. Meeting of the Detector and Simulations Group, August 4-5, 1999 at SLAC.
  10. A meeting of all of the American e+e- Linear Collider Study working groups was held at Berkeley, March 29 - 31, 2000.
  11. International Linear Collider Workshop (sequel to the Barcelona 1999) was held at Fermilab, October 24 - 28, 2000.
  12. A meeting of the American e+e- Linear Collider Study Groups was held at Johns Hopkins University, March 19-21. 2001.
  13. Following the extensive discussion of future initiatives at Snowmass 2001, and the strong interest expressed there for an e+e- Linear Collider, a 2 1/2 day meeting was held at the University of Chicago on Monday-Wednesday, January 7-9, 2002.
  14. The growth in interest in Linear Collider R&D led to three regional meetings, one at Fermilab, April 5, 2002, one at Cornell, April 19, 2002, and one at SLAC, May 31, 2002
  15. The new "LoopVerein" working group on radiative processes and corrections held their first meeting at Brookhaven National Laboratory on May 9-10, 2002.
  16. An IP Beam Instrumentation Workshop was held at SLAC on June 26, 2002.
  17. The Spring/Summer 2002 meeting of the physics and detector working groups in North America was held at  Santa Cruz  June 27-29, 2002.
  18. LCD Soft at Northern Illinois University, November 7-9, 2002.
  19. A Workshop on Low Energy Photon Collider Facilities was held at SLAC, November 21-22, 2002.
  20. An LHC/LC Physics Working Group Workshop was held at Fermilab ,December 12-13, 2002.
  21. The winter 2003 meeting of the ALCPG was held at UT Arlington, January 9-11, 2003. (a world-wide R&D review on vertex detectors and intermediate tracking, was held at Arlington on January 8, 2003)
  22. Loopfest II at Brookhaven National Laboratory on May 14-16, 2003.
  23. LC Simulation Workshop at SLAC, May 19-22, 2003.
  24. The summer 2003 meeting of the ALCPG was held at Cornell, July 13-16, 2003.
  25. The winter 2004 meeting of the ALCPG was held at SLAC, January 7-10, 2004. (a world-wide R&D review on main tracking and muon detectors was held at SLAC on January 8, 2004)
  26. Loopfest III at the Kavli Institute for Theoretical Physics in Santa Barbara April 1-3, 2004.
  27. LC Simulation Workshop III at Argonne, June 2-5, 2004.
  28. The summer 2004 meeting of the ALCPG was held in Victoria, July 28-31, 2004
  29. The summer 2005 meeting of the ALCPG was held at Snowmass, August 14-27, 2005.
    This was a two-week long workshop.
