A large lucite rod bends in a spiral. Laser light can be put in at one end and it can be observed that the light is bouncing through the rod and coming out the other end. Also available is a fiber-optics kit with a penlight in it. Fiber optic materials can be put on the end of the flashlight to show how the material guides light.
