Applied Physics Masters
Application Materials and Admission Requirements
For admission to the Applied Physics Masters program, a bachelor's degree in physics or a related area is required with a minimum undergraduate grade point average (GPA) of 3.00 (B) in advanced physics and mathematics courses. Submission of scores on the Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) general aptitude test is strongly recommended. Students from non-English-speaking countries are required to demonstrate proficiency in English by submitting scores from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). A current TOEFL score above 500 is required for admission.
Applicants are strongly encouraged to first apply to the Materials Science Institute's Industrial Internship Program . See this page for details. Files of applicants who express an interest in an Applied Physics Masters degree will be automatically transferred to the Physics Department.
