Freeman Dyson, “Imagined Worlds”

Meet Freeman Dyson — scientific genius, contrarian thinker, and bold visionary. Celebrated by physicists for his fundamental insights into the behavior of atoms and radiation, Dyson is equally admired by the thinking public for his provocative and elegant popular writing. Always topical, and invariably controversial, his discussions have included religion, nuclear weapons, space colonization, and global warming. His popular books include Disturbing the Universe, Weapons and Hope, Origins of Life, Imagined Worlds, and The Sun, the Genome and the Internet. In this presentation he will reflect on a sixty-five-year career that has seen many changes, and will offer his unique and insightful perspectives on the future of science in society.
